Bandipora, Mar 05 (KNO): Burglars broke into a residential house in the Tawheed Abad area of Bagh locality in north Kashmir's Bandipora district in an attempt to loot jewelry.
The locals informed a news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the burglary happened during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday as the inmates were not present there.
The house owners, Zahoor Ahamd Shah and Nazima said that an unknown number of burglars have smashed windowpanes and sneaked in.
Moreover, they have also smashed open all the room locks, trunks, briefcases and a locker in an apparent search for jewelry that they were trying to steal.
The single-story house is situated on the road and is also fenced, despite that the burglars have been nearly successful, but only that they couldn't find the gold, the house owners said.
The house owners are also shocked at the fact that the burglars had so much time to search every nook and corner of the house. "Clearly indicating that the thieves had the information beforehand about us [house owners].
The locals said that they had faced such burglary attempts recently in the neighbourhood. Also in the town areas, before some time, there have been successful burglary attempts while the culprits continue to loom at large.
The house owners, meanwhile, have informed the police to take cognizance of the matter while the locals demand that burglars be nabbed as soon as possible so that they heave a sigh of relief—(KNO)
